The TASS charts have some flaws. Stars brighter than about sixth magnitude may not appear at all, since our software doesn't recognize such saturated objects as stars. For example, compare the pictures below of the same area of the sky (RA = 84.0, Dec = -1.0, size = 1 degree); the photograph shows Alnilam, middle star in Orion's belt, m(V) = 1.7, but the TASS chart doesn't.
Stars grouped too close together are also ignored, as this photograph of M2 and the accompanying chart show.
