While I would rather see the lenses pointed to the same sky field, I
do not have a mark III in-hand and cannot appreciate the extra effort
involved in reorienting the individual cameras. There are arguments for
and against pointing in the same direction vs. one hour apart, and perhaps
now is not the time to fight the good battle. However, I will dissent
regarding IVI vs. VRI, as I think observations in 3 passbands are more
important than the double hit in 'I', and that the R passband should
show better image quality than 'I' if our conclusions about these lenses
are correct. Explain to me again why two I observations are needed?
Brightness changes over a 2-hour span? Can't this be accomplished by
intercomparing results from other sites?
