I just had a short interview by phone with one the anchors (?) of
a BBC monthly radio program called "Seeing Stars". The host's name
is Heather Cooper (IFRC), and the producer is Martin Redfern. They
contacted me this morning and asked if I'd be willing to say a few
words about TASS. Of course, I didn't refuse :-)
It went pretty well, I think -- the host was very knowledgeable
about astronomy, and asked really good questions. She mentioned
doing her thesis work on Palomar Sky Survey prints, so that's not
surprising: one data-muncher talking to another :-) I hope that
I didn't screw up too badly in any of my answers. About halfway
through the interview, I realized that I was waving my hands about
and gesturing to add further emphasis to my explanations ... but,
of course, they couldn't see me.
Anyway, I'm told that the program will air soon; the material had
to be ready by midday tomorrow (Apr 24), so perhaps the program itself
might air sometime later tomorrow (or this coming weekend?).
If anyone in the UK or elsewhere does listen to this program,
I'd be very interested in finding out how it all sounds.
Coming soon to a theatre near you: TASS, The Motion Picture :-) :-) :-)
