Re: [TASS] New nova in TASS data?

Tim wrote regarding the new nova. I doubt there
would be a prediscovery image in the mark III cameras
since this field is well past the meridian at twilight.
Similarly, the mark IV can only move about an hour
off the meridian, and likewise would not have been
able to pick it up.
SDSS scanned the equator, but I don't think it
went this far north. QUEST would probably have
photometry in the field a month or two back, but
not recent since they also drift scan on the
meridian. The most likely sources of prediscovery
images are LOTIS and ROTSE, both of which scan
the entire sky nightly. I bet they publish some
prediscovery information in an IAU circular sometime
soon.
