Commercial Project

Anyone here interested in a commercial product?  I have had an idea for
something in Astronomy for which I think there is a modest market.  The
potential market is a few $million a year.  One might achieve of order
$100,000 in sales a year.  Not enough to quit your day job, but might be a
nice second income for the right set of people.

It requires software and hardware.  I think I have someone lined up to do
the software.  I thought I had someone lined up for the hardware, but his
day job got in the way.  

I have made contact with a possible marketeer.  They say they can sell it
for the price it costs to produce.

I have built something quite similar and know it works. 

There are several parts to the project:

1) Designing a USB (probably - but culd be a plug in card to the PC) device.
2) Designing a shrink wraped package.
3) After a prototype phase, arranging for production and testing, probably
overseas.  This is a commercial product.  It neads to come in a colorful
shrink wraped box.  Retail at $300 or so.
4) Software

I understand all the technical problems.   I can finance the parts and the
PC fab costs for a few dozen prototypes.  I cannot finance labor.  So you
have to have time and energy.  I have the energy to advise, but not to lead
such a project.  There are no significant technical problems.  Just the
usual problems of connecting something to a PC and getting everything to
work - hardware and software.    

I think I have a neat idea, and no one seems to be doing it.  My energy is
going to go into tass.  But I would like to see this product produced.  It
would be a fun device.  I think it would sell.
