New People

I notice a number of new people have signed up for the tass list.  Welcome.  

The list has been quiet lately.  Mostly this is because I am busy building
the next set of cameras.   These should make it to the field soon.  Then
there will be a lot of activity.  Meanwhile, anyone who has a passion for
looking at 2k x 2k images and working on software to solve the various
problems we will face, contact me with what you would like to work on, and
I can probably send you a CD full of data.  Others may just want to hang
around and read for a while.  Eventually you will find something to work on.

Mostly the project is hardware driven.  I build hardware and put it out
into the field with QBasic as the only software to make it go.  This
inspires others to replace the software with something better.  The cameras
sitting there inspire designing programs to do good science.  Not the usual
way that scientific programs are conducted, but it seems to work.  But I am
sneaky.  The systems as designed are not good for much else than a survey.
So I do try to guide the program.
