I agree with Chris (and Michael). Take equal exposures,
and worry about what to do with one-camera detections
in software. Remember that some sites may eventually
end up with BVRI cameras where the problem only gets worse.
I disagree with Tom that taking two equal length exposures
on each field is the way to go -- I think it is a waste
of time that could be used to image another field. It
is far better to revisit the field on another
night if you need a second set of images to remove junk.
My personal opinion (naw, really?) is that I'd rather
only keep those objects seen in both cameras and on several
nights. We don't need to measure things near the limiting
magnitude (photometry and astrometry is hosed), and you
need the color information to do the transformations properly.
