Re: file name
I try to respond to all rational requests/comments. One reason for sending
out all those disks is to see what kinds of comments they produce. I
notice that many of you can get around any obstacle. Some of you are
stopped by the most trivial problem. That is life.
The programs I use want the fits extension. It helps me to identify data
by having the long file name.
Seems to me that I discussed this a lot on the list before I set up the
present file labels. I sort of weighed every comment and made some
decisions. Now I am ready to weigh comments again.
Note that if you are reducing data and producing star lists, then your vote
counts a lot. If you are just complaining without signs of obvious work,
then your vote counts little. (with me - everyone's opinion counts 100%
with himself)
I again suggest that a few of you get together and update the file name
TN. I nominate Arne as the chair for this committee. He wrote the last
TN. I would further nominate anyone who has processed a half dozen data
disks. ;^)
Of course I cannot make anyone do anything. I will abide by the decisions
of such a committee.
