You should have ~7-8CDs, not 9, unless you have broken
the files up into user-managable divisions.  For ARNE,
I save the files gzipped to achieve a compression factor
of 1.5x.  I figure this is ok since I don't intend to
look at the raw images much (I do the processing before
deleting the raw files from hard disk).
  Dirk:  until DVD-RAM settles down, I personally wouldn't
even consider buying a burner.  CD media are now USD$0.05.
We just went to DVD for serving the PMM pixels; it has
taken a full year to find a decent vendor and get drives
delivered.
