RE: Minimum spanning circles and Voronoi diagrams
I think you need to read Michael Richmond's notes on tenxcat
and why allowing the import starlists to define the star
position is the wrong approach. In general, you will end
up with multiple 'stars' in some positions where the matching
fails. It is better to use a known input catalog as your
master star list. Since something like UCAC has sufficient
resolution to identify everything that will be classified
as a 'double' in the Mark IV catalog, you have the information
necessary to correctly match objects.
You are not generating the first catalog of objects in the
sky. Use the prior knowledge!
