Following John's advice, I was perusing the most recent IBVS issues at
Konkoly, and ran across another period analysis program - Period98
It runs under Linux (huzzah!), and so far it seems better documented and
more user-friendly than either AVE or TS, but beyond that I'm definitely
not qualified to comment.
If anyone is curious, the program is mentioned in issue #5205.
