Tools CD and rpm's

Well, if there is enough demand, I will certainly entertain the idea of
creating an RPM, althought since I've only installed IRAF 1 time, and
created RPM's 0 times, it would not be high on my list of fun things to do.

Has anyone listening had experince creating RPM's who might be willing to
give this a go? Or even someone with no experience but a desire? Anyone?

Paul, I was offering this for folks who are bandwidth challenged. Like Tom.
If you mean by "Better would be a link-up so people could get them easily
and cheaply" providing a place to store them, I'd rather just provide links
to the latest sources of all the potentially usefull tools in one place.

I'll happily grab the entire GSC (40Gb!) and distribute on DVD (which I
don't have) if that would help solve some problem, and if it's possible
(copyrights and the such). Or, if I can grab the entire set, I can work on
reducing it to a managable size. If we can just find a "... participating
institutions". But would that fill some need?

Cheers,
Rob
