tass Batavia, IL Report for June, 2002
Since the program fix, I have not had a single "bad data" problem. I think
it is finally fixed.
Dan and I have been working in the basement this month making cameras. So
far nothing has come off the end of the production line. There are some
cameras that are close. July will probably be a total loss as we are
taking the Rolls (1960) to WVa for a Rolls Club meeting.
47 CDs were generated during June by TOM1. The stack is now 571 high. I
set some sort of record this morning. By 6AM I had last night's data
transcribed to CD, loaded onto Hepp, and the processing started. It should
be done late morning.
The relative humidity sensor works great. I can now automatically run the
chiller and not worry about condensation. The same fix was added to TOM2
and a heavy duty Crydom switch was installed so that I can run the big
chiller without worrying about condensation.
The list was active this month with discussion of things found in
DS23. Lots of good work was done looking at the data.
TOM2 was turned on and everything was put into operating condition. I now
have big heaters attached to the telescope tubes. We have installed the
high gear ratio Dec. drive motor and balanced up the mount.
I have run all the "easy" disks through the analysis program. This is
about 350 CDs. The remaining 150 will all take some work as they have
various problems. Like being 10 days off in date. I am not sure it will
be worth trying to salvage this old data but I need some of it to complete
the +7 band.
I have about 3x the data on DS23 available for study. I will release this
in batches (I think) to keep the searchers happy looking at data.
