Re: Tom's Big File Online
Ron and all,
Actually, the CD of the month is in the mail. It went out in this
morning's mail. I figure at least one more should be up until it is
possible to do real searches on Michael's machine. Those who download the
complete monthly file can do different kinds of searches than can be done
(presently - I think) on Michael's big file.
Later Michael can allow you to say run Welch-Stetson on the full data base
and output specific ranges or some such. It is not clear that it is fair
to ask Michael to provide this kind of computation heavy service. Or that
it is even possible.
All I really asked Michael for was to save me sending out specific star
data. So if one can say "send all the measurements on the star at RA,
Dec." then he has done what I asked. I think the data base can now do
this. Sorry Ron, I had intended to tell you when I put the disk in the
mail. We have been working hard to try to get all the modifications made
on TOM1,2,3 before it gets too cold.
