Status Report for March 2003
We are now running routinely with the clear and dark sky detector. If the
sky is too crummy, a dark is taken. This assures an ample supply of
darks. A TN was produced on the design.
We collected only 48 CDs of data this month. Lots of work for the clear
sky detector, and lots of data to test the new bad image rejection software.
Michael has improved the pipeline software. One can now set sky level and
sigma for rejection of further processing. The software also flattens the
image. The result is that the image can be set to be flat within the
noise, or is rejected.
We have started to process a block of data through the new pipeline to
study where we will want to set the level and sigma. This has taken a
while since the first few passes produced different answers on different
machines for the same data. We now have this solved, and have started to
process the "daily" data through a pair of computers. The "daily" data
covers as much sky as possible once a night.
Work continues on Mark V drawings.
Slowly we are getting TOM2 and TOM3 back into operation.
