TOM1 is Running

TOM1 would appear to be back in operation. The computer running TOM1 died
after long and faithful service and was replaced by one of the Shuttles.
The day was spent with the usual stuff remembering how to configure it in
the network and getting all the right stuff installed to make the network
card work. It is always a fight with Windows. I could not work around the
fact that I had two hard drives on the new computer and Windows would not
install the drivers from disk E. Windows insists on getting drivers from
Disk D and also insists on assigning the CD Rom Disk E. I had to pull one
of the hard drive off to get it to load the driver. I am sure all of you
have done things like this.

There are nice shiny reconditioned cameras on TOM3. Now all I have to do
it to get another new Shuttle to read out a memory card. My spell does not
seem to work today. Sigh! One has to fight each new piece of hardware.
But getting one computer running and networked is a good day's work for me.
Tomorrow is another computer.

I think I am still on schedule for getting all three systems up and running
and spiffed up and aligned and calibrated, etc., by the time the weather is
good enough to want to run. The big change is that I now have lots of
spare boards and cameras and a good test set up so I have an easier time
getting things running.
