Routine Running

Just running away. The biggest chore of this project is now writing the
images to CD. Eventually I might switch to DVD, but not until I can just
use something like xcdroast to write them. Several tries have not worked
yet.

So I sit there and shove CDs into the writer and wait. The time is too
short to do something else, but too long not to be boring. Sigh! 15 CDs
from last night's run used up several hours.

The network still hangs from time to time. This seems to be caused by the
Windows 98 end doing something wrong. This hangs the Linux end. If I get
to the Windows machine quick enough and reboot it, then everything
recovers. If I wait too long, then the Linux end hangs and I have to
reboot the Linux machine. OK, we have tried in the past without success to
un hang the Linux end. I have forgotten all the things to restart. But I
think it is not so bad that I really want to solve this problem. I really
need to sit there and check everything on startup, because I often find
something wrong. Just griping.
