Processing Big .cal List

I am presently processing the big .cal file list. It includes most of the
data taken so far but is missing a couple of months.

The program is finding 50-100 possible variables per hour of RA.

You can see the result in real time at tass-survey.dyndns.org

Sign in as guest with the password guestguest. ssh is running. If you
don't know how to do it with the above information then I can't help you
and you will need expert advice. Not me.

A list of the variables found so far is at
/home/tom/cal_files/temp1/work/vizier.lst

This list is in a format where you can submit it straight into vizier.
You may have to delete the last column which is the Welch-Stetson
statistic.

The data for each plot is at /home/tom/cal_files/temp1/work/data
The .png files for each plot are at /home/tom/cal_files/temp1/work/plots

Most of the files look pretty variable to me.

To make this list, the star had to have:

1) At least 12 pairs of points.
2) A Welch-Stetson value > 20
3) With the highest and lowest three points removed, the sigma of the
remainder had to be greater then 2.5 times the expected sigma at the mean
magnitude.

There were 211,393 stars that met 1 and 2. Looks like we will get about
1500 through 3).

I just looked at the count and there were 1194 stars found so far and the
program had processed through RA of 17:42.

In the past, about half the stars from this program turned out to be new
variables. No guarantee that any are variable. This is just my
early try at finding variables in this data. If you get mad if the data
is not as good as you would like it to be, then don't look at it.

Enjoy!
