Good progress is being made on the reprocessing. For those that missed
it, I did some creative longitude entering in May of 05 for tom1 and
June of 06 for tom2 and tom3. This means I have to reprocess about
30,000 images. I have completed tom2 and tom3 and started on tom1
today. There was a period early this year when I was on chemo that I
did not make backups, so that data is lost forever.
The rest of the data seems to be processed smoothly. I had 2 or 3 tom2
disks that I could not read, and there is one time where I changed my
procedure for writing backups and that is a pain. Mostly, everything is
going smoothly.
I am set up with 2 computers. It takes about an hour to load 12 DVDs
into the computers, then they run for about 24 hours.
With luck, I will complete the process in a month. I have given a copy
of the tom2 and tom3 data to Michael Richmond.
The image back up consists of about 100 50 CD cake boxes for 2003 and
2004. There are 13 50 DVD cake boxes with 2005, 2006, and 2007 data.
