The XVista Astronomical Image Analysis Suite

This is a suite of programs for reducing and displaying astronomical images. It was written by Michael Richmond and Dick Treffers, and should not be confused with a similar, older program of the same name which was written by Todd Lauer and Richard Stover.

XVista is designed to run on a Unix-like operating system, and some of its programs use X Windows. The systems on which the package is known to build and run successfully are

You should examine the README file before you decide to download the code. It might also help to read the introductory man page. A very short example of how the code might be used to reduce some drift-scan data appears in the file TASS.example.

Latest version of the code

The latest version is xvista-0.1.3, packaged on Mar 7, 2005. There are no executables -- you must download source code and build it yourself.
