It's been to long since I've said anything about ROB, so here goes.
ROB's been up and running for a while, but is now down for upgrades/repairs.
DEC drive mod is installed and trying to get it to work to my satisfaction. I think I will end up lengthening one or more of the cable brackets to allow ROB to get to 90 DEC. Currently, I the bracket hits the new motor before I can get there.
My I camera is leaking coolant out the back side, and it just got worse, so I'll have to tear that apart and re-do the gasketing.
I'll be ordering some flocking paper to at least build a light shield, and will investigate if I really want to take apart the lenses. I have the desire as they need to be cleaned internally, but am mindful of Tom's experience.
I've managed to reduce 3 million star measurements using DAOPHOT and my scripts, although I have not yet really analyzed the quality of the data. After Doug W. helped me with DAOPHOT settings, the color calculation residuals dropped an order of magnitude. I still have a lot to do in this area to get good quality data.
My Perl telescope control programs are fairly stable, although with the new DEC drive (and consequently not needing the DEC brake), I have some minor fiddling to do to support either operation mode (brake or no-brake).
