Status Report from Batavia, September 2001

Tom Droege

TOM1 has been taking data. We are running in a mode where we first take data for a flat, then follow as many fields as we can for as long as we can for the rest of the night. An early run, Data Set 19 has been sent out to a dozen or so eager data munchers. There is some problem with fogging on the V camera, and the funny data problem is still with us but mostly we are taking as much data as conditions allow. More and more the funnyt data problem looks like software.

More work has been done on the ECP design and TN-78 if available to show the proposed design. Replacement Stamp/Scanner boards have been sent out to update MICHAEL and ARNE. A new RA drive has been built for ARNE but is not yet shipped. We continue to run the test stand to check out boards.

TOM2 and TOM3 are now installed in the dome. They just fit. Basic functions have been tested, but both need lenses and cameras. I have been back in the basement and have started up the lens and camera line. There is much waiting for glue to dry. Word from our friend who is Lumogen coating the CCDs is that this has been done successfully. They will be shipped shortly.
